Mulberry Tree ROEBUCK

The centre is located in the new Roebuck estate, a short distance from Roebuck primary school.  Offering a modern, safe and educational learning environment for the children its design was purpose built for Broome in May 2008. The centre features skylights and vents in the roof which allows natural light and fresh air to circulate throughout the centre and children’s care rooms.

The centre has five care rooms to accommodate all children, starting with our nursery for very young babies through to after school care for children as old as 12 years. Your child will play, learn and grow with children of similar age in a secure, comforting and safe environment. Our qualified and experienced carers are there to guide children on new adventures, teach new songs and games whilst they experience the world little steps at a time.

At Roebuck our outdoor play environment is a wonderfully adventurous place. Our spacious, grassed and shady playground provides children with the room to run and explore with their friends while being protected from the sun’s harmful rays. The Centre is Sun Smart Accredited and the Sun Protection Policy limits play time in the direct sun during the higher UV months of the year. We all wear 30+ sunscreen and hats all year round. Our large covered verandas are also a great place to watch and listen to the heavy rain in wet session, and stay dry (that’s if we want to stay dry!) Child-sized drinking fountains ensure water is accessible to children at all times.

As a small part of the wider community we aim to ensure we play our part. Our calendar of events helps us meet local people, support local business, share our fun, games and stories and learn lots of yours! As we are on Yawuru land we embrace the local culture. Yawuru people visit the service on regular occasions connecting with the children whilst teaching the Yawuru langauge. We embace our climate and environment with vegetable gardens, herb gardens and even care for some free range hens.

Qualified educators in each room design programs for the individual needs of each child as well as group activities for the whole room. Programmes across all rooms are based on the Early Years Learning Framework which focuses on play and exploring our environment. Children play games and engage in many experiences that are both fun and educational. Our Kindy room has a strong connection with Roebuck Primary to help transition the children into the education system.

Mulberry Tree Roebuck is new to Broome and we are excited about the years to come. Pop in, say hello and be part of our beginning! Our open door policy means you are always welcome.
